The Pharr Police Department has partnered with the Pharr Public Safety Communications Department to provide 9-1-1 Services and Dispatching, which also directly ties us in with other emergency services such as Fire and EMS.

The Pharr Public Safety Communications Department is a Consolidated Regional Communications Center that serves the communities of Phar, Penitas, and Linn San Manuel. Pharr Public Safety Communications is a primary public safety answering point, which answers incoming 9-1-1 calls and seamlessly integrates Police, Fire, and EMS departments to dispatch response resources efficiently.

The Pharr Public Safety Communications Department is always open. They are staffed 24.7, 365 days a year. It takes an entire team of well-trained and dedicated individuals to run such an operation. The Pharr Public Safety Communications Department consists of an Administration Division and Operations Division. The Pharr Public Safety Communications Departments has 4 separate shifts and maintains a roster of 7 Telecommunications Officers and 1 Communications Supervisor at all times. These members are trained in specialized areas of call-taking, such as Police, Fire, and EMS.

The Pharr Police Department and the Pharr Public Safety Communications Departments work hand in hand on a daily basis to ultimately protect the citizens of Pharr and strive to provide an excellent customer service experience.
