Each School Resource Officer has been assigned based on qualifications, experience, and skills. The School Resource Officers have undergone a selection process which is used to choose and assign officers at a campus they will likely serve most effectively.

School Resource Officers provide security for the students, staff, and campus visitors. The officers work to identify campus problems and work hard to solve those problems. The officers are able to listen to students and support resolutions to problems or direct the student for help. The officers have a sincere desire to be at the Schools and daily meet with students and staff. The officers have earned the respect and trust of many students and are able to inspire success. Importantly, the School Resource Officers are trained to respond to any emergency and are ready to serve in their law enforcement capacity. Officers issue citations, effect arrests, and handle all campus preliminary investigations. The School Resource Officers professionally represent the Pharr Police Department and have committed themselves to be a part of the schools.
