The mission of the Pharr Police Department Mental Health Unit and the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program is to develop partnerships with mental health consumers, their family members, and other mental agencies and organizations to better serve the mental health consumer in crisis. Mental Health Officers will respond to individuals who are in crisis as a result of a mental health disorder and shall assess and assist those individuals most effectively and compassionately possible. Mental Health Officers shall utilize their training to remain sensitive to the needs of the mental health consumer, always displaying the highest level of professionalism.
